Dead to Rights 3 planned for release in Q4 2009
The March issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine has a Namco Bandai preview for Dead to Rights 3, or rather a reboot of the Dead to Rights franchise for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Developer Volatile Games (best known for 2006′s Reservoir Dogs game) are “not working on a sequel, or a prequel, or a spin-off, but rather a new beginning.”
1UP paraphrases the preview as saying the third-person shooter will be more focused on hand-to-hand combat compared to the previous games in the series. The protagonist Jack Slate returns, the setting’s still Grant City, and even Shadow the dog will make a return, but this time as a useful stray who can cover your back as you take cover during a shootout.
Expect an official announcement and some actual media nearer to the game’s release in Q4 2009.
