Iron Man 2 videogame announced by Sega
Sega developer Secret Level has announced that they will be creating the video game adaptation of Iron Man 2 for multiple platforms to launch alongside the second film in 2010.
Sega says that gamers can “expect an entirely new and enhanced gameplay experience” as Sega works to improve the title from the first game which will also have an updated engine. No other solid details on the game were revealed.
Although Sega’s first Iron Man game was panned by critics, the game was pretty well received commercially as it sold over a million copies.
The first Iron Man film starring Robert Downey Jr. in the titular role was one of 2008′s top-performing films, grossing nearly $600 million in total box-office sales.
The movie sequel will again star Robert Downy Jr. and is once again being directed by Jon Favreau. The movie will also star Don Cheadle who will replace Terrance Howard as Iron Man’s cohort in arms War Machine and Gwyneth Paltrow will return as Tony Stark’s secretary Pepper Popps. The film also has Samuel L. Jackson attached to play SHIELD Commander Nick Fury and Mickey Rourke as the Soviet relic Crimson Dynamo.
In addition to creating a game based on Iron Man, Sega also has the rights to make game’s based on two other upcoming Marvel superhero films, Thor and Captain America.
