What The Sims 3 expansion packs would you like to see?

With The Sims 3 finally released in June, in a similar fashion to the rest of the series, we should expect expansion packs in 2009 and beyond! So… What kind of The Sims 3 expansions would you like to see?

Here are a few ideas the developers at Electronic Arts have been playing around with. One of these could very well be the first The Sims 3 expansion pack. Around the time The Sims series sold 100 million copies worldwide, in an interview with The Sims’ studio head Rod Humble, he mentions what expansions were canceled and which expansion ideas not used for The Sims 2 might be used in the future [read: The Sims 3]. Of special note is that he said that: “Most of the expansion packs we have brought to market have been created from fan reaction or feedback as we listen to our audience and respond with making exciting additive content available to them.”

Expansion pack ideas list:

“Other ideas I’ve seen in the community include a rave/party pack and science fiction pack,” he told Joystiq.

The supernatural aspects in The Sims games have always been fan favorites, not to mention favorites within our studio! We’re creating some fun surprises new and old fans are going to love in The Sims 3. “I personally absolutely hate everything supernatural in The Sims 2, but the team loves putting it in by way of mocking. So the expansion pack team now designates, ‘What supernatural thing do we put in to piss off Rod?’ Because I really, really hate it,” he laughed when talking to 1UP.

I think they need to bring back The Sims Online for one. For two, I liked the Open for Business for Sims 2 and I think they need to have something like that. Ambitions just doesn’t give you enough interaction or options.

I agree pretty much with all of these other comments. But i’ve been thinking.. we base these sims off ourselves, our friends, and other people we know usually right? and we can capture that person pretty well with all the way of editing how they look (weight, face structure, bust, muscle.. etc) but when i make sims that are suposed to be like me and my friends i almost always think.. “this is pretty good but..me being me im shorter then most of my friends and they are taller then most people.. but i cant do anything about the height.. i think it would be nice to be able to..

A Sims 3 with a lot more animals to create.. not just horses dogs and cats (they are REALLY great) but i thought about maybe other animals as well (rabbits,crocodiles,birds,tigers,lions,foxes ect) that would be perfect ^^ i know it would be sooo much work but it would for sure be a great game it would be worth the hard work :3

and D: it would be great if in the next game they make it able for the sims to hold hands while walking together (like couples,friends,parents and children) that would be so cute and realistic :3 i’d like to see that..

everryday weather, seasons, holidays. more profesions like fashion desgner, teacher, hairstylist, cook (like actually take orders nd cook them) singer.. etc , maybe an actual store to walk in and shop for clothes, groceries,etc . swim at the beach

Definitely a magic based one, like “Makin’ Magic” I used to love that game and even now… still get the urge to play it sometimes. I reckon along with all the fanboys and fangirls wanting a hogwarts expansion… this would sell very well. It’s a definitely an idea they should consider.

School. I have ALWAYS wanted them to do something where you actually got to see and control the kids while they’re at school.

I definately want to see DESEASES!!! The sims will not die just like that when they reach an age, they will have some deseases, take bills, have treatments, go to hospital and finally die.

I also like NATURAL DISASTERS like tornados, hurricanes, volcano explosions, tsunamies etc.SEASONS for sure, with Christmas season, when you can have your own Christmas tree, give presents to children, be dressed as Santa Claus etc.
Sims should be able swim at the sea or go surfing instead of just fishing.
They should have different heights too and there should be a bank where they can have their money into different accounts or something.
Finally, Sims should full their cars with fuel, pay for the taxi, be able to take the bus, the subway with a lower price and if they are celebrities and paparazzi are following them they would read about them in newspapers or watch themselves on TVs.
