Some new details have emerged on Gearbox’s upcoming Aliens: Colonial Marines first-person shooter.

The game will contain six chapters and each chapter will have the player controlling a different marine from your squad of six.
During the course of each mission, more story and exposition will be revealed via flashbacks that will help to flesh out the game’s storyline and link facts together.

The game will also use adaptive cover which means you can order your squadmates to do things such as weld entrances and move furniture to seal off doorways and windows so that the aliens cannot get inside (well, they will eventually of course).

In addition to offering typical first-person shooter combat, the game will also use Quick-Time Events ala Resident Evil 4 so that you will need to quickly press buttons to escape or fight off the aliens in certain scripted situations.

Overall the game definitely has me excited and sounds good so far.
