PlayStation 3D gaming works only with HDMI connection

Can’t wait to play your PlayStation 3 games in glorious three dimensions? Well that day may soon be upon as, as Sony was demonstrating their new 3D technology at the 2009 Consumer Electronics Show. Although the 3D effect will only work with an HDMI connection.
Although Sony didn’t offer any kind of real specs on the TVs, the kind of technology behind it or how it works, they DID demonstrate them on the show floor, impressing all the crowds that gathered to look upon the glorious display.
They even demonstrated that the TV’s will work with their PlayStation 3 by running Wipeout HD on the TVs, which definitely must’ve been impressive. I can only imagine. They also apparently had Gran Turismo Prologue up and running on the 3D displays.
The displays do require the user to wear special glasses, but unlike the red and blue glasses of old, these ones just look like normal sunglasses. So you won’t look like too much of a nerd when sitting at home with your 3D TV.
No release date or window was revealed on the displays, although it looked like Sony was simply showing off the technology to see what kind of user response they would get from real people.
