Cry On action-RPG from Final Fantasy creator cancelled for Xbox 360
It looks like Mistwalker and Final Fantasy creator Hironobu Sakaguchi’s Xbox 360 RPGs may not have sold well enough for them to continue. Just speculation on my part though, because Japanese publisher AQ Interactive has announced that they have officially canceled the Xbox 360 exclusive action RPG Cry On, which was to be the third original RPG to be developed for the Xbox 360 by Sakaguchi and Mistwalker. The other two released titles are Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey.
Cry On would’ve featured the talents of Final Fantasy music legend Nobou Uematsu who was creating the game’s music and character designs by Kimihiko Fujisaka (Drakengard 1 and 2 and The Last Remnant).
No screenshots of Cry On were ever released sadly, so we won’t even know what could have been.
When asked about the cancellation of Cry on, AQI responded, “AQI decided to cancel the project after analyzing the current market environment and forecasts for the future. We deeply apologize for troubling those who were awaiting its release.”
