Rock Band 2 downloadable content (songs for Wii coming early 2009)

Rock Band 2 on WiiRock Band 2 Wii downloadable content has been MIA (Missing In Action) as Wii owners found out once they got the actual game in their hands and found out that the promised downloadable songs weren’t actually available. Naturally, gamers of all stripes got on the Rock Band 2 official message boards to vent their frustration at not being able to download songs.

Now Harmonix has clarified that Rock Band 2 downloadable content for Wii will be coming “as soon as possible” in 2009 and will include a free 20-song track pack (that fans of other versions of Rock Band 2 got earlier this year) followed by an additional 30 songs from the original Rock Band library.

Definitely good news for Wii fans but this kind of thing should not happen especially given that it was promised beforehand. But kudos to Harmonix for fixing the issue.
