Hideo Kojima directing two new games aimed at Western gamers

In a recent interview with Famitsu, Metal Gear Solid mastermind Hideo Kojima revealed that he is working on two new unannounced projects. Both of which are aimed at Western audiences.
The first project though is being worked on in the “old style”, while the new game is being made by a restructured Kojima Productions with the overseas market completely in mind.
Kojima says that he compares the modern day Western gaming industry to Hollywood, with it’s products being made with the whole world in mind. That is something that Kojima wants to achieve with his studio and says that he is giving Kojima Productions “a makeover from the ground up.” His goal for the studio is a software house that can compete with the best of what America and Europe has to offer.
No one has any idea what Kojima’s two new titles will be or what platforms they will appear on, but it is known that Kojima has been visiting Western first-person shooter studios. Is he just learning and seeing how the Western studios do business, or could his next game actually be a first-person shooter from a Japanese developer? The first-person genre has long eluded the Japanese so it wouldn’t be inconceivable that an FPS might be the next direction Kojima heads in.
