Club Nintendo Swag Items including Game & Watch Collection for DS

Nintendo has launched Club Nintendo for their North American customers at the official Nintendo web-site.

Club Nintendo is a rewards program that allows Nintendo fans to get their hands on some cool swag by earning points, or as they are called in Nintendo-land, “Coins”.

You can earn coins by registering Nintendo products that you have purchased, including Nintendo systems (like the Wii and DS) and DS and Wii games, which include a pin-number inside.

Registering a Wii game will earn you 50 Coins, registering a DS game will earn you 30 Coins and purchasing something from the Wii Shop Channel will give you 10 Coins each.

There is also a number of additional things you can do to earn bonus Coins including telling Nintendo what games you PLAN TO BUY (which is kind of weird considering you could theoretically say you plan to buy every game listed), registering a newly released game within one month of it’s launch, and completing surveys for games that you have registered.

Register enough products and you will reach Gold and Platinum status which will offer annual prizes for gamers who can amass 300 or 600 total Coins.

And there are a number of cool, exclusive prizes that you can snag for having a certain amount of Coins. Among the launch items you can get are:

* Game & Watch Collection (800 Coins) – A DS game that includes four classic Game & Watch titles. No word on whether or not it contains just the originals or the original and modern versions (like in Game & Watch Gallery for the Game Boy)
* A pack of Nintendo Hanafuda Cards (800 Coins)
* A pack of Mario Party Playing Cards (600 Coins)
* A White Nintendo DS Game Card Case (600)
* A pack of Animal Crossing Playing Cards (500)

This Club Nintendo service has been a long time coming for Americans as Europe and Japan have had the system for quite some time. And don’t worry if you have already registered a bunch of products, they will transfer over from the old Nintendo.com account to your new ones. And like that one your Wii Shop downloads will be registered automatically as long as you link your accounts. Overall, I’m really glad they finally brought this system over for us Nintendo fans. Cause either way games like the Game & Watch Collection are sure to be collectibles.
