New info on Uncharted 2 revealed
Some new information on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has been unveiled in the latest issue of Game Informer magazine in their exclusive blow-out cover-story on the exciting PS3 exclusive sequel to the hit first game, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.
New details on Uncharted 2: Among Thieves include:
* The story will be about Marco Polo’s lost ships. The ships were lost when Polo was returning home to Italy and Drake is on a quest to find them.
* There will be a new female character named Chloe Frazer. No mention on whether or not Elena or Sully will return.
* Nolan North will return to voice Drake and Chloe Frazer will be voiced by Claudia Black of Stargate SG-1 and Farscape fame.
* Melee combat will be much more dynamic in this game.
* A demo of the game showed Drake going through a city dispatching guards with stealth while trying to escape.
* One new weapon shown was a rocket launcher that’s used by Chloe although no confirmation on whether it was just for the cinema scene or not.
* There will be no loading screens in Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
* Weapons can be used in any stance that Drake is in, whether he is running, hanging, climbing, behind cover, etc.
* Drake can now aim from behind cover.
* The score for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is veing composed by Greg Edmonson who also did the score for the first game.
* The original Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune used only 30% of the PlayStation 3′s power. The development team at Naughty Dog plans top use nearly 100% of it’s power for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
