Hideo Kojima receives MTV Lifetime Achievement Award

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for PS3Hideo Kojima, creator, producer and designer of the Metal Gear Solid franchise (who’s latest title, Metal Gear Solid 4 for the PS3, was an international hit as MGS4 sold over 4.33 million copies worldwide) was awarded MTV’s Lifetime Achievement award (and handed his “Game Cube” prize) at the MTV Game Awards 2008 held in Germany.

As you can see in the video below, the award was handed out by Jade Raymond, the industry darling who worked on 2007’s hit Assassin’s Creed.

After receiving the award, the legendary designer commented, “I have to say, even though I received this award, let me state that I will not retire. I will continue to create games as long as I live.” Good to know that we have a lot more Kojima game’s to look forward to!
