Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost and Damned has been revealed as the Xbox 360-exclusive Downloadable Content episode and is scheduled for release on February 17, 2009.

You may recall that one of the major selling points of the Xbox 360 version of the game was Microsoft’s ability to snag exclusive downloadable episodes from the paws of Sony (the game was originally going to appear just on the PS3) and now finally, six months later, the first details of the new episode, titled “Lost and Damned”, has been revealed.

The episode will feature a new main character and a new plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. The new mission will offer a fresh way to explore Liberty City and will include new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and a diverse soundtrack with new music that will what you expect from the GTA team.

Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360“Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

The Lost and Damned main character is The Lost Biker gang member Johnny Klebitz, who Rockstar described as being “very different” from the star of the main game, Niko Bellic, who will make cameo appearances in the game but will only be a background character.

“I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released,” said Rockstar Games vice president of creative development Dan Houser. “But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.”

“We feel like we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of depth and detail,” Houser said.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said to expect the new episode to cost up to $20, and he expects Rockstar to be able to sell between 2 and 3 million downloads.

wow 360 only they realy took a wrong turn on this one. being a hardcore GTA fan since the late 90′s. i have purchased over 12 titles of GTA 8 for of witch were on pc and 4 on the playstation. Only if rocketstar releases this for pc or Playstation, i will be holding on to my $60 this time around. and 4 those who are bashing ps3 you can have fun paying monthly to play online. Losers

The PS3 is far more superior to the Xbox 360!

The bluray drive itself kicks ****** as the amount of data able to be stored on a bluray disc ensures greater detail which means games made for the PS3 are made with more detail !!!!… it also serves as a bluray player and the console itself looks very flash and stylish combined with sony’s bravia x series tv’s!

I would be embarrased to even display an xbox 360 as part of my home entertainment centre!!!

The Xbox range of controllers are oversized and look like controllers ment for an old school sega mega drive or dreamcast system.

THERE IS NO COMPETITION BETWEEN THE PS3 AND XBOX 360 FULL STOP.

IN SHORT THE PS3 DOES NOT NEED ANYONE TO DEFEND ITS SPECS. BECAUSE IT DEFENDS AND TALKS FOR ITSELF!!!! ……HOWEVER THE XBOX 360 NEEDS PEOPLE TO DEFEND IT WHICH CLEARLY SHOWS HOW CRAP THE X360 IS!!

The X-Box is really a box!!!… a useless hollow piece of junk that takes up storage space in the sheds!!!

A law should be passed so that if Microsoft tries to engage in activities other than for the sole purposes of making/improving Windows they will be liable to a $Billion dollar fine!!!

    PS3 RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh* while I totally agree with the people who are upset over this being an XBOX360 exclusive release (I will NEVER buy a console system or a console game, they are inferior to a PC, so if they want my business, they need to release it for a PC), I have to disagree with all this PS3 glorification. Look guys, a PS3 is not as bad as XBOX360, but it still inferior when compared to a PC. My old E6600 running at 3.6GHz, 4GB of cheap ram, and a GeForce GTX285 will play any game better than a PS3… Even GTA4 PC with all settings below 100% still looks and feels better than on a console. gg.

Oh, and gg rockstar for selling out.

Yea well done Rockstar, Sell your GTA fanbase out BIG TIME…
It was only Sony’s various playstations that made you what you are today..A release on xbox b4 Ps3?? WTF!! seriously someone needs to kick Sam Houser..square in the vagina….money has went to his head.

And BTW .. apart from graphics…GTAiV is the WORST version so FAR,,. total Noobery

All you ps3 fan boys make me laugh, especially this guy Titan, he jus posted a huge comment about how ps3 is better then xbox blah blah then says u dont need to defend ps3 but xbox users have 2 defend xbox….all i see is u nerds defending ps3 lol, and ya great it has a blue ray thats great, u watch ur blue ray videos while i play GTA 4 – the lost & damned lol

  • http://videogamesblogger niko$

why they put gta4 lost and dammed on xbox only is crap the graphics on ps3 are fine alone and beter than xboxs alone but with blu ray is amazing lost and dammed should be on both or just PS3

  • Yoshi Mario

Honestly, i think the ps3 is garbage. Id rather get two xbox 360s than 1 ps3.
Yes for the 360 you have to pay for online but theres a reason. Its much better than the ps3. The 360 comes with a much more wider selection of games. And its much easier to navigate around.
