Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost and Damned has been revealed as the Xbox 360-exclusive Downloadable Content episode and is scheduled for release on February 17, 2009.

You may recall that one of the major selling points of the Xbox 360 version of the game was Microsoft’s ability to snag exclusive downloadable episodes from the paws of Sony (the game was originally going to appear just on the PS3) and now finally, six months later, the first details of the new episode, titled “Lost and Damned”, has been revealed.

The episode will feature a new main character and a new plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. The new mission will offer a fresh way to explore Liberty City and will include new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and a diverse soundtrack with new music that will what you expect from the GTA team.

Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360“Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

The Lost and Damned main character is The Lost Biker gang member Johnny Klebitz, who Rockstar described as being “very different” from the star of the main game, Niko Bellic, who will make cameo appearances in the game but will only be a background character.

“I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released,” said Rockstar Games vice president of creative development Dan Houser. “But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.”

“We feel like we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of depth and detail,” Houser said.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said to expect the new episode to cost up to $20, and he expects Rockstar to be able to sell between 2 and 3 million downloads.

Xbox 360 sucks, and continue to do so. Microsoft thought by spending $50 million they hoped to get more people to buy their consoles to get the exclusive content. Well I will never buy a 360 because of their greed and selfishness. I hope they won’t get back their $50 million.

Dude, I think Xbox has recouped the $50 million already! I own both so I will be playing the DLC earlier than those with just PS3s!
The DLC will be on the PSN soon I am sure, its worth too much for Sony not to fight for it. Have patience

Blurb about the DLC GTA IV The Lost and Damned:
Game starts out with a 2 or 3 min long intro video of the biker gang riding
the streets of LC. Once the video is complete you get into the game as the
lead biker of the gang as you head back to their HQ. Right away you will
notice the only 2 things about the add-on that I would say are its
downsides: 1) the acceleration speed of the American Chopper style bikes
used by The Lost gang is seemingly slow to respond and 2) the overlay that
was placed into the HUD and the rest of the screen that makes everything
seem like its been “roughed up” which almost takes away from the crisp HD
quality of the games design. Past that the game does a good job with almost
keeping right up with the slight and few interactions of the original GTA IV
storyline and at the same time entirely independent to its own unique story.
The game quickly progresses into the murder, mayhem and overall destructive
rivalry between the other bike gangs lf LC. The design of the new bikes and
weapons are outstanding and the one gun that is now my personal favorite,
the sawed off shotgun can be used as a “drive by” style weapon giving you
the best option to use while riding to waste just about anything and quickly
disable any cop car that may be riding your ass. The upgrade to the games
physics and upgraded bike handling is no joke, overall design and upgraded
    features I rate as a solid 9.

    as another side comment:

PS3 started with there own exclusive content with the processor that is used to run the system. with Sony being the only company that is capiable of using the scripts that will use the systems full capibality. big name developers like Eidos, blizzard and Rockstar games will never be able to get as good as quality out of a game when developing for the PS3 and would much rather spend their $ on something that they can utilize every last bit of performance on like the Xbox

I bought the PS3 because i love the design of the controller. Im not a huge Xbox person because usually PS3 gets all the games i like. Not a big FPS person so i don’t care about halo and gears of war. Now for the exclusive content, i disagree with it because Rockstar could of made way more then 50 million if it were to release to both but its they’re choice, i want to play it, im sure in time it will come out on the PSN.

and Fact is…. Wii sales beat both Xbox and PS3
