Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost and Damned has been revealed as the Xbox 360-exclusive Downloadable Content episode and is scheduled for release on February 17, 2009.

You may recall that one of the major selling points of the Xbox 360 version of the game was Microsoft’s ability to snag exclusive downloadable episodes from the paws of Sony (the game was originally going to appear just on the PS3) and now finally, six months later, the first details of the new episode, titled “Lost and Damned”, has been revealed.

The episode will feature a new main character and a new plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. The new mission will offer a fresh way to explore Liberty City and will include new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and a diverse soundtrack with new music that will what you expect from the GTA team.

Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360“Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

The Lost and Damned main character is The Lost Biker gang member Johnny Klebitz, who Rockstar described as being “very different” from the star of the main game, Niko Bellic, who will make cameo appearances in the game but will only be a background character.

“I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released,” said Rockstar Games vice president of creative development Dan Houser. “But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.”

“We feel like we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of depth and detail,” Houser said.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said to expect the new episode to cost up to $20, and he expects Rockstar to be able to sell between 2 and 3 million downloads.

The XBox breaks a lot, doesn’t have free online games, doesn’t have free wireless, doesn’t have blueray, and doesn’t have as nice graphics. So why do people like it more than PS3??

Because their cheap asses that don’t want to spend the extra couple of bucks for something quality.

  • jo

because they would rather have more fun and the graphics are only very slightly worse

  • Ev

Range of games on xbox is better and ps3 controllers are rubbish

  • GodsNightmare21

A couple of bucks??? Couple hundred, and if you wanted quality you shouldn’t have gotten a PS3.

    GodsNightmare,

What would you get thats quality then? The Wii and their childish games or the POS Xbox? No thanks.

I have owned all of the systems. And the PS3
s download times are the most painful to deal with.

The 360 is superior in that field alone, as far as the graphics go I see no difference what-so-ever. Then again I am legally blind.

I have both systems and got the 360 cause more of my friends have it and it is quite alot more playable than ps3 yeah you 5 dollars a month but it is worth not to sit in the sony cue lines and wait for ever games to start up. Both systems are killed in every category expect split screen gaming by the PC. If you actually want all the best graphics, sound, game speed, online playablity, modding, and everything else. Than the PC is and will always be the top.
