Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost and Damned DLC release date is February 17, 2009

Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost and Damned has been revealed as the Xbox 360-exclusive Downloadable Content episode and is scheduled for release on February 17, 2009.

You may recall that one of the major selling points of the Xbox 360 version of the game was Microsoft’s ability to snag exclusive downloadable episodes from the paws of Sony (the game was originally going to appear just on the PS3) and now finally, six months later, the first details of the new episode, titled “Lost and Damned”, has been revealed.

The episode will feature a new main character and a new plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. The new mission will offer a fresh way to explore Liberty City and will include new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and a diverse soundtrack with new music that will what you expect from the GTA team.

“Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

The Lost and Damned main character is The Lost Biker gang member Johnny Klebitz, who Rockstar described as being “very different” from the star of the main game, Niko Bellic, who will make cameo appearances in the game but will only be a background character.

“I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released,” said Rockstar Games vice president of creative development Dan Houser. “But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.”

“We feel like we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of depth and detail,” Houser said.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said to expect the new episode to cost up to $20, and he expects Rockstar to be able to sell between 2 and 3 million downloads.

i wonder if theyll release it built into the new copys of the game, because i sold my copy and i want to play this expansion, i guess ill have to buy it again

I own both the 360 and PS3. I did my research before buying it. Bought it because of the 360 downloadable content. On top of that ive played it on both systems, and it looks better on the 360 too. Glad i did my research.

Lets not 4get tht Playstation launch GTA so wheres ther F*ckin Loyalty when I comes 2 episodes 4 PS3s. F*ck Xbox 360s they got nothin on PS3s N F*ck tht nerd who rekons GTA4 Has better graphics on Xbox, Wat a F*ckin If U did ur Research properly U wud of Found out Tht PS3 Hav a much higher Bit Rate which means Better graphics U future Pedofile. xbox 360 is ok but compared to ps3 no match but you have got to admit the graphics are good on 360 but not enough and im not bothered if the graphics for games such as grand theft auto 4 are not super but i like them neat its as long as you have the game
