Grand Theft Auto 4: Lost and Damned has been revealed as the Xbox 360-exclusive Downloadable Content episode and is scheduled for release on February 17, 2009.

You may recall that one of the major selling points of the Xbox 360 version of the game was Microsoft’s ability to snag exclusive downloadable episodes from the paws of Sony (the game was originally going to appear just on the PS3) and now finally, six months later, the first details of the new episode, titled “Lost and Damned”, has been revealed.

The episode will feature a new main character and a new plot that intersects with the storyline of Grand Theft Auto IV. The new mission will offer a fresh way to explore Liberty City and will include new multiplayer modes, weapons, vehicles and a diverse soundtrack with new music that will what you expect from the GTA team.

Grand Theft Auto IV on Xbox 360“Making these episodes has enabled us to expand the narrative and the experience of interacting with a game world in really innovative ways,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We hope fans of the game enjoy the new way of experiencing life in Liberty City contained in this first episode.”

The Lost and Damned main character is The Lost Biker gang member Johnny Klebitz, who Rockstar described as being “very different” from the star of the main game, Niko Bellic, who will make cameo appearances in the game but will only be a background character.

“I can’t go into too much detail on the story, because we try not to give away too much plot before the game is released,” said Rockstar Games vice president of creative development Dan Houser. “But I can say that the story will show you a different side of Liberty City.”

“We feel like we’ve only scratched the surface in terms of depth and detail,” Houser said.

Wedbush Morgan Securities analyst Michael Pachter said to expect the new episode to cost up to $20, and he expects Rockstar to be able to sell between 2 and 3 million downloads.

if this is only on xbox 360 then that it crap beacause it should be on ps3 network for download, otherwise rockstar can kiss there money away, as loads of people play this on ps3 aswell

Well, microsoft paid 50 million dollars for this to be an exclusive. So no, it CAN’T and WON’T be on ps3 for download. Rockstar got their money in CASH. Sorry.

I have both systems and thats why I got grand theft auto 4 on xbox 360…I was a smart one!!!

me being a ps3 owner amk pissed off gta was always a playstation exclusive game until they released the gta3 and vice city double pack on xbox it sickens me too think rockstar have abondoned the company that made them so big in the first place screw you rockstar :(

Well, you cannot be emotional in the game industry or you’ll go down. Fast and hard. Rockstar chose the one which sells most.

do u need the gta4 game to download the lost and damned

XBOX 360 FTW!

Screw all of you Sony Fanboys! You didn’t seem to care when GTA was PS only.

Now you’re all crying about the tables being turned.

Karma homey!

I understand people think Rockstar is abandoning their roots which Playstation made them get their name started but I guess Xbox had the better online capabilities. Now PS3 is much better on and offline but $$$ talks and they made an exclusive deal with Microsoft. I just hope this download doesn’t cost more than 1200 points, which I bet it will.

this blows hardcore thats like them bringing out halo on ps3 then bringing out all this exclusive halo shit for ps3 only f*ck that man

I love you XBOX
