Left 4 Dead codes and cheats

Here you will find a list of cheat codes for Left 4 Dead on PC (and one for Xbox 360).

First you must activate the Developers Console: you do this at the main menu, select “Options,” then “Keyboard/Mouse.” Enable “Allow Developers Console.”

Developers Console Cheats: While playing the game on any difficulty level, press the tilde key (which looks like ~ on your keyboard) to display the console window. After you enable the cheat console, type “Sv_Cheats 1″ and then press ENTER. This will enable the cheat mode. After that enter the following codes and hit ENTER to activate them. Note that you can do this not only in single player, but in multiplayer as well, but in that case the server you are playing on needs to have Sv_Cheats set to “1″ and only the owner of the server can do that.

The code is followed by — Its effect on the game.
* changelevel [map name] — Quick change map.
* give ammo — Full Ammunition.
* give pistol — Get Pistol, or alternatively get autoshotgun, rifle, hunting_rifle, moltov, pipe_bomb, first_aid_kit, pain_pills, gascan, oxygen_tank, propane_tank.
* god — Invincibility.
* noclip — Toggles No Clipping Mode.
* sv_infinite_ammo 1 — Unlimited Ammunition.
* z_spawn weapon_SMG — Gives you the SMG.
* z_spawn [NPC name] — Spawn indicated NPC type, their names are mob, witch, tank, boomer, smoker, hunter.

Watch the Left 4 Dead cheats being entered into the main game using the developer console.

There’s also an Xbox 360 version cheat that gives you invincibility while reloading: You must hold the LT + B buttons to knock back attacking zombies while reloading your gun.

when i do the settings for the cheats for l4d i do all those right but when i press the (~) button it doesnt come up with the console thing.

why is this?

There is a difference between european and american keyboards, thats why the corresponding button may be different. try “\” or “«”

when i enter any z_ cheat it says they are not allowed in multiplayer unless cheats are set to 1, but im in single player

okay heres step by step instructions the way i did it.

1. go to the main menu

2.go to the options menu from there.

3 go to keyboard/mouse options (this is still in left 4 dead not ur computer settings or anything)

4. on the “consol” option it should say its disabled. click the word “disabled” and switch it to “enabled”

5. go in the game, and while your playing, hit the button with the swirly thing on it (this symbol ~) ~ that symbol. its right next to the number 1 button.

6. type in, sv_cheats 1
it will currently be set to zero which is off…
you can now enter cheats!

so yeah after you type in sv_cheats 1
your allowed to enter cheats like:

give autoshotgun (gives u the good shotty)
fire (drops a molotov under u, not to pick up but its like u threw it.)

sv_infinite_ammo 1 (infinite ammo, no reloading!)

and theres tons more…. oh also, for god mode((infinite health)
type, god 1

does this only work on pc or can i do it on 360 can someone specify cuz apparently no other site will cuz i’ve googled and checked them all and when you search 360 and how to use the f*ckin keyboard it beats around the bush
