Mirror’s Edge downloadable content coming in January 2009

Mirror's Edge on Xbox 360EA has revealed that downloadable content will be coming for Mirror’s Edge in early 2009. The PC release of the game is also set for release in January (13th) of 2009.

Back in September Sony had reportedly snagged the exclusive rights to downloadable content on the PS3 version of the game (just as Microsoft snagged exclusive downloadable content for Tomb Raider: Underworld and Grand Theft Auto 4) but the press release from Electronic Arts makes no mention of the downloadable content being exclusive to any one version, which means Sony might have lost out on the exclusivity after all.

UPDATE: EA has detailed the contents of the DLC pack: Players will be challenged to achieve the fastest times possible on nine races across seven all-new and totally redesigned Time Trial maps. No guns, no cops, and no city: this is true aesthetics, agility and flow that will challenge any runner. This special DLC pack will be available for $10 USD or 800 Microsoft points. As an added bonus, all PlayStation 3 Mirror’s Edge fans will be able to download an additional map for free.
