Inmate escapes jail Snake-style, using a cardboard box
Anyone who has played a Metal Gear Solid game, or even seen Snake’s appearance in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, knows that one of the oldest tricks in the book is using a cardboard box to sneak around, by putting it on your head, walking around, and setting it down when a guard is nearby . . .
Well apparently the prison guards in Germany have never played Metal Gear Solid, much less been trained to notice when a cardboard box just doesn’t look right . . .
A Turkish man who was in prison in Germany escaped by using the old cardboard box trick! How did he do it? Well he simply hid in the box at the end of his prison job shift, where he makes stationery, and was carried out by a courier service along with other boxes. The inmate then cut through a tarp in the truck and jumped out shortly after the vehicle left the prison grounds. The driver eventually noticed the tarp flapping in the wind and reported the cut to the police.
Beate Peters, the warden of the Willich prison presumes that the man had accomplices outside the prison, and a manhunt is underway throughout western Germany.
Hopefully the prison will no require that all guards play through Metal Gear Solid and learn the tricks of the trade.
