The SingStar franchise has been a huge hit internationally selling over 13 million units across the PAL region - SingStar is now a house-hold name in over 67 different countries. With the top rock, pop and party tracks from the world’s biggest artists, Singstar is a good mix of over 30 titles to chose from.
its ok but where are the sixties tracks ???
now im not old but the sixties have great songs .
i was wonderint hat 2 wish there were more oldie songs
Why only 30 songs plus Queen song pack? I think that there should be at least 60 songs coz anymore they cant blame about DVD format. They had nowadays Bluray which has like at least 8 times bigger capacity to store data.
So why not 8 x Singstar (PS2) songs?
Coz there would be like 100 songs..though it would be really awesome
@ Ale_012: There are “only” 30 songs because if they added more the price of the game would go up with each song. You see, Sony have to pay for the rights of each song they add, at $1 or $2 per song you do the math. It’d be too expensive and with additional dowloadable songs at least you get to choose.
@supadupagarna: That could be the reason. I didnt figured out that before ur msg. Now I see that what u mean. But do u know does Sony gets rights to use those songs, what they have bought so many times as Sony wants?
So would there be a chance to see somekind of collection Singstar, which would include like 60 songs from earlier singstars?
But anyways Thanks for ur post. It really opened my eyes for this issue.
No problem Ale_012. What you’re suggesting, Sony already kind of did. But instead of putting past SingStar songs on one new disc, they have released them all (at least in Europe) on the SingStore for everyone to download on a “per song” basis.
I personally liked that idea better because then you get to handpick your favorites.
Except they haven’t actually converted all the PS2 tracks. And there is a distinct lack of the oldies. Where are the likes of Marvin Gaye, The Righteous Brothers, Elton John?
On top of that, they haven’t put all the tracks from the disc editions on SingStore either - from the list above there’s no Feargal Sharkey, Happy Mondays, Deep Blue Something (for example).
Very shrewd of Sony.
Although buying discs means buying tracks you don’t necessarily want, at least the per-track cost is lower than SingStore.
well if you download the update you can play your old singstar ps2 on the ps3.
