Excite Truck 2, could it be Monster Games’ new top-secret game for Nintendo?

supadupagama November 30th, 2008 Listen to this article "Hey! Listen!"

Excite Truck for WiiMonster Games founder and designer Richard Garcia recently talked about his company. In an interview with LGN he mentions the 20 employees at Monster Games are working on a top-secret video game for Nintendo. They’ve worked on it for two years and are nearly finished. The process is so private the designers must darken their monitors when the bottled-water deliveryman enters the office!

Monster Games’ last game was 2006’s Wii launch title Excite Truck. With the company’s background making it a racing game developer above all, it’s now rumored Excite Truck 2 or possibly even F-Zero Wii might be their next Nintendo game.

“People will still pay for entertainment,” Garcia said, adding that profits throughout the video game industry are mostly on the rise, despite the national economic slump. He credits the steady increase to the growing public acceptance of video game playing as a “valid” form of entertainment. Nintendo’s recent widespread marketing of video games as “something for the whole family” with its latest “Wii” system has accelerated that acceptance, he said. — Via Neogaf

Valkyria Chronicles review video (PS3)

supadupagama November 30th, 2008 Listen to this article "Hey! Listen!"

Valkyria Chronicles for PS3Valkyria Chronicles combines strategy elements of conventional tactical role playing games with real-time action sequences. The game is set in a fictitious continent reminiscent of 1930s, Europe divided in two and ruled by the Empire and the Federation. The Empire has set its sights on invading a small neutral country called Gallia, which is situated in the middle of the two great empires. The game follows a hero named Welkin and his fellow soldiers of the Federation’s 7th Platoon that are fighting against the Empire, who is intent on unifying the continent under its power.

Built upon the new “CANVAS” engine, Valkyria Chronicles’ ground-breaking 3D graphics resemble a watercolor painting in motion. Gameplay is centered around a new type of tactical battle concept. Known as “BLiTZ,” this battle concept gives players unique freedom to strategically move around the environment and attack enemies using real-time controls.

Aside from its looks, what makes this strategy RPG stand out? Find out in this Valkyria Chronicles video review.
