Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 5 Wii, split-screen co-op discussed in video interview

A new interview from the Tokyo Game Show 2008 has the developers of Resident Evil 5 discussing some interesting things!

In particular, they discuss the inevitable Resident Evil 6, Resident Evil 5 coming to the Wii, and their general thoughts on the Wii system, the newly announced split-screen co-op for Resident Evil 5 gameplay offline, and you even get to see a quick cut-scene glimpse of Albert Wesker!

February 2009 update: Resident Evil 5 producer, Masachika Kawata, visited Capcom Europe’s office in London for interviews while it was snowing outside. Driving through the slushy streets of the UK capital seems to have had a profound effect on Mr. Kawata, because when The Guardian newspaper asked him if he had any locations in mind for Resident Evil 6, he replied: “Why not London?”

Resident Evil 5 producer Jun Takeuchi told Official PlayStation Magazine “I think Resident Evil 5 doesn’t need to change the series, but Resident Evil 6 will have to reinvent the series with another full model change or else it won’t be able to keep on going.”

Another Resident Evil 5 producer Masachika Kawata told The Gadget Show “We haven’t decided whether we’re going to make Resident Evil 6 yet. But if we do, it could take anywhere up to eight years [to make Resident Evil 6], but hopefully only four.”

oh man don’t get me started on re..i got re5 on the first day right after school i was so happy to be the first on my friend list to get it…and ima be the first to get re6 too..it should be a reunion with like all the characters from the games that would cool..and sheva would meet them..yea i would love to see that..

RESIDENT EVIL 6 HMMM,I THINK RE6 SHOULD HAVE THE CHOISE OF PLAYING THE STORY MODE BY PLAYING WITH ANY CHARACTER YOU WANT,IT’LL BE AWESOME HAVING THE HUNK GUY OR KRAUSER PLAYING AND I’LL BE SWEET TO SEE THE BIG O BLADE CHOPPING UP SOME ZOMBIES HEADS. BUT OF COURSE THAT’S JUST MY IDEA…lol

i think the re series needs to get a grip… they need to get back to real zombies, nice flesh eating ones, not ones that can talk and do other stuff.

i will happily wait for this game and hope that, capcom learned from resi 5 and brings it back to its scary/sci-fi roots.

I think there’s a good chance that the begining of RE6, is gonna have Sheva waking up from a concussion revealing everything after jumping onto the Tanker was a dream. Quite possible if RE5′s director really did leave Capcom.

I think that RE4 was the best game in the series! Although… I am a little dissipointed that they strayed from their zombie roots. I wonder what they have in stor for us now…..

I think RE6 would be awesome. It would be cool if all the characters met up like AyZeen said. I personally enjoy Hunk and hope they incorporate more CQC and better finishing moves. As for Krauser you killed him in 4 unless he managed to survive the TNT blast. As for flesh eating zombies, awesome. Sometimes original is better. I would say some L4D zombies (not the special infected, but runners). Runners would be a challenge. A wider selection of weaponry too. The merchant from RE4 would be cool to see again lol. It’s a lot to ask, but I hope some of it will at least happen.
