Thanks a lot man! Glad you liked the review. :) Mr. Miyamoto used to do the bulk of Zelda creation himself, but Ocarina of Time is where that stopped. Now Eiji Aonuma produces the series, with Miyamoto in more of a Executive Producer role, watching it over and offering opinions. But Miyamoto has expressed that he has been very satisfied with Eiji, whom he trained as the "next generation" to succeed him. The reason Ocarina of Time is "less innovative", is because all of the features it started, are now standard practice. And thus, it is lacking in newer features and smoothness. Obviously it's because it's an older game. But people who were weaned on modern titles then play Ocarina may not find it as impressive as us oldies do. Of course, you're not in that category ;) I agree, it's still an amazing game! As I spoke about in my Ocarina of Time 3D review: http://www.videogamesblogger.com/2011/08/08/zelda-ocarina-of-time-3d-review-3ds.htm

Nice article, I haven't heard until now that Mr. Miyamoto "passed the series along" to Mr. Aonuma. Whatever that means. It's interesting, maybe it's because I only recently played this game or maybe it's because I just love LoZ I just don't see how the game could be any less innovative in 2008 or 2010, the year in which I played the game. This is the one that made me want to go work for Nintendo.

[...] By the end of the game, you will likely look fondly back on many of the games awesome moments; which are sealed in a very neat way with a new epilogue-style ending sequence exclusive to Ocarina of Time 3D, which adds an all-new orchestral version of the famous Legend of Zelda theme! Old hats who were around when Ocarina of Time first hit the shelves for the Nintendo 64 way back in 1998, may recall that one of the biggest complaints about the game was its lack of “Zelda-sounding” music, a complain I echoed in my Zelda: Ocarina of Time N64 review.
Simply THE greatest game of all time.
I discovered the old N64 in my attic last week and had to have a blast on Zelda. Instantly fell in love with it again, and i was interested to see what other people thought of it. Great review!
