To be honest, lately i am really having a hard what type of DS should buy. And i decided to buy DS lite not just because it was way to cheaper but because of this reasons:

1. I can play GBA games on DS lite specially Band Hero (Enjoying the guitar grip and drum grip)
2. Splendid battery life!
3. Comparing the resolutions of lite to dsi and 3Ds. Ds lite is better, why? maybe because 3DS & DSi has larger screens i dunno but it is sorta kinda stretched it sucks it looks pixelated when you play. Indeed they have native resolutions but it's only little.
4. i love the shiny glossy finish.
5. WHO NEEDS CAMERA & MUSIC WHEN I'M SURE EVERYONE HERE HAS IT'S OWN CELLPHONE, CAMERA'S, IPOD ETC. I need game game console not multimedia console LOL :))

Lastly why argue of this stuffs? it's on your own perspective and opinion everyone has their own choice. As the matter of fact it really depends on what type of game you play, the gameplay and the graphics are least.

Is it because you think most stuff can be gotten on other thing or different devices such as the camera and music player?

I just got my 3DS this week and while it's use of new features (3D, Gyroscope, etc) is amazing, DS games look worse on it because the change of resolution of the screens, and especially for text. So to really enjoy it you need to buy new games. Plus if you think battery life sucks on the DSI, well wait until you get the 3DS. You get 3-4 hours per charge! It is bulky, reminds me a little bit of the DS Phat. I guess we'll get a 3DS Lite next year...

I've owned all the DS incarnations except the DSI XL. Well guess what, I'm longing for my DS Lite. In my opinion it was the best designed console of the whole series. The feature set was perfect for gaming, the battery life was excellent and the glossy finish looked amazing, especially in white. Always made me crave for white chocolate :-).

I could have saved the money I spent on DSI. I never liked the matte finish, it was less classy than the DS Lite's one. DSI Ware games and the Nintendo Shop were mostly garbage, and I never used the cameras again after the first week. Battery life was shorter than on the DS Lite. Finally the screens on the DSI are indeed bigger but only marginally.

So now I'm on the lookout to buy a white DS Lite and to be able to enjoy my DS Games without blurry graphics.

So if you are wondering wether you should get a DSI or a DS Lite, go for the DS Lite as it is the better gaming system. And if you intend to get the 3DS, wait until next year when Nintendo will release it's 3DS Lite (or whatever it is called), unless you absolutely want to play the new 3DS games now.
