More Xbox 360 price cuts in America on September 5. Xbox 360 Arcade now $199, Elite priced $399
Microsoft announced lower retail prices for the various Xbox 360 console in America. Beginning September 5th, 2008, the various versions of the Xbox 360 will retail for the estimated prices of:
* Xbox 360 Arcade: $199.99
* Xbox 360: $299.99 (it’s unclear if it’s the 20GB or 60GB Pro)
* Xbox 360 Elite: $399.99
Microsoft touted the announcement as an industry milestone. “We are thrilled to be the first next-generation console on the market to reach $199, a price that invites everyone to enjoy Xbox 360,” said Don Mattrick, senior vice president of the Interactive Entertainment Business at Microsoft.
The second recent Xbox 360 price cut coming to the US, follows Japan’s announcement of a price cut earlier this week. No word on any price cuts in other regions.
