PS3 firmware 2.5 details leaked?
It has been leaked that Sony’s next PS3 firmware update will include a screenshot-grabbing utility built in!
It is not known exactly how this will work or what it will be used for, but just as you may imagine, it will allow you to take screenshots of your own games with the click of a button. And presumably be able to take a snapshot of whatever is on the screen, just like you can do with the “Print Screen” key on your PC’s keyboard, to take a screenshot of whatever is being displayed on your monitor.
Hopefully this will include the ability to not only take screenshots of your greatest video game achievements, but to upload them to somewhere so you can show them off to the world. Which would be a great idea, in my opinion. As it hasn’t been built-in to any game system before.
The official confirmation from Sony on the PS3 Firmware 2.5 update has yet to be announced, but this info was revealed to CVG so it’s a safe bet that it’s true and not just a rumor. But we’ll have to wait and see.
