Diablo 4 may in fact become a reality even if the story is closed in Diablo 3, says lead designer of Diablo 3, Jay Wilson.
In talking to MTV Multiplayer, Jay made this exact quote:
“We’re not saying this is the end of the ‘Diablo’ universe, but we are trying to bring this storyline to a close,” says Wilson. “It’s not just ‘Diablo III’ - we’ve got plans beyond.”
It seems obvious then from the statement above that Diablo 3 is only the beginning of the Diablo rebirth. Could there be a World of Diablo coming in the future? I definitely wouldn’t rule out the possibility, although I think it may all hinge on how well Diablo 3 sells.
Diablo III is the long-awaited sequel to what many consider two of the best computer games of all time, Diablo, and it’s sequel Diablo II which have sold in excess of 18 million copies.
Why wait for Diablo 3 when you can wait for Diablo 4?
Because blizzard are slow and will take 9 years to release 4.
