Out of the complete King of Fighters XII (KOF XII) cast, 22 characters have been revealed, like Terry and Athena. We thought it was time to list The King of Fighters XII characters below that have been confirmed for the fighting game. It will first be coming to Japanese arcades in April 2009, and SNK Playmore confirmed that it will then be released worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on July 28th, 2009.

When you click on each KOF 12 character’s name below, a window will pop up with a picture of him / her.

Confirmed characters:
1. Andy Bogard (returning from King of Fighters 2002)
2. Ash Crimson
3. Athena Asamiya (in original Psycho Soldier outfit)
4. Benimaru Nikaido (in King of Fighters ’94 outfit)
5. Chin Gentsai (*2)
6. Clark Steel (*2)
7. Duo Lon (*2)
8. Elisabeth Blanctorche
9. Goro Daimon (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
10. Iori Yagami (*1)
11. Joe Higashi (*2)

The entire game will have new hand drawn 2D sprites on detailed 2D backgrounds. All the sprites used in previous games for over 10 years will be dropped and will be replaced with these new high definition sprites. SNK Overseas Manager Yoshihito Koyama also revealed that the game is going to be “3D [effects] mixed with 2D,” with there being zero cell shading in the game.
