Official The King of Fighters XII characters list

Out of the complete King of Fighters XII (KOF XII) cast, 22 characters have been revealed, like Terry and Athena. We thought it was time to list The King of Fighters XII characters below that have been confirmed for the fighting game. It will first be coming to Japanese arcades in April 2009, and SNK Playmore confirmed that it will then be released worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on July 28th, 2009.

When you click on each KOF 12 character’s name below, a window will pop up with a picture of him / her.

3. Athena Asamiya (in original Psycho Soldier outfit)
4. Benimaru Nikaido (in King of Fighters ‘94 outfit)

9. Goro Daimon (returning from King of Fighters 2003)

11. Joe Higashi (*2)

* Mai Shiranui (right now it looks like she’s not in, but Mai may appear as a downloadable character)

The entire game will have new hand drawn 2D sprites on detailed 2D backgrounds. All the sprites used in previous games for over 10 years will be dropped and will be replaced with these new high definition sprites. SNK Overseas Manager Yoshihito Koyama also revealed that the game is going to be “3D [effects] mixed with 2D,” with there being zero cell shading in the game. You can see the new look in video below.

im a huge fatal fury fan and kof and i think kof should always have fatal fury characters like joe higashi and mai and janet tizoc just the more fatal fury characters the better !!

what good is ralf without clark + where is joe higashi and where is mai and mary the sweetness of the game. where is choi and chang. I thing they cut off too many good looking funny and cool charactors.
my opinion is that, what good are graphics if the game has no juice.

They should definitely include Mai Shiranui (if not for the simple fact of seeing Mai in high-resolution glory) and Tung Fu Rue (he was in the PS2 version of XI).
