Official The King of Fighters XII characters list

Out of the complete King of Fighters XII (KOF XII) cast, 22 characters have been revealed, like Terry and Athena. We thought it was time to list The King of Fighters XII characters below that have been confirmed for the fighting game. It will first be coming to Japanese arcades in April 2009, and SNK Playmore confirmed that it will then be released worldwide for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 on July 28th, 2009.

When you click on each KOF 12 character’s name below, a window will pop up with a picture of him / her.

Confirmed characters:
1. Andy Bogard (returning from King of Fighters 2002)
2. Ash Crimson
3. Athena Asamiya (in original Psycho Soldier outfit)
4. Benimaru Nikaido (in King of Fighters ’94 outfit)
5. Chin Gentsai (*2)
6. Clark Steel (*2)
7. Duo Lon (*2)
8. Elisabeth Blanctorche
9. Goro Daimon (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
10. Iori Yagami (*1)
11. Joe Higashi (*2)
12. Kim Kaphwan
13. Kyo Kusanagi
14. Leona Heidern (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
15. Mature
16. Raiden (aka Big Bear)
17. Ralf Jones (*1)
18. Robert Garcia (returning from King of Fighters 2003)
19. Ryo Sakazaki (*1)
20. Shen Woo (*1)
21. Sie Kensou (*2)
22. Terry Bogard (in original Fatal Fury 2 outfit)

Rumored console-exclusive characters:

* Keith Wayne (from Power Instinct)
* Mai Shiranui (right now it looks like she’s not in, but Mai may appear as a downloadable character)

The entire game will have new hand drawn 2D sprites on detailed 2D backgrounds. All the sprites used in previous games for over 10 years will be dropped and will be replaced with these new high definition sprites. SNK Overseas Manager Yoshihito Koyama also revealed that the game is going to be “3D [effects] mixed with 2D,” with there being zero cell shading in the game. You can see the new look in video below.

I hope K’ returns as he’s my favourite of all the characters but I’m not too fussed if he won’t be in there.

It was a huge kick in the face that they introduced Ash the same time they got rid of her.

I really wish EOLITH would quit being such a bunch of d*cks so they can bring her back. K9999 and May Lee, too, on principle. Even just as hidden non-canonical characters.

it’s imposibel to play only with 20 characters, it is going to be for PS3 ah? if that’s the case i would like more charachters in future updates

K’ better be in this game because he’s the best. I dont think id buy the game if he wasnt in it. I also think Nagase should be in it too. I can’t w8 XD. I repeat K’ better be in it!!!!!
