The Sims 3 release date is June 2, 2009

The Sims 3 has received a final worldwide release date of June 2nd, 2009 for PC. This is a delay from the original February 20th date.

This announcement came from an EA press conference at the Leipzig Games Convention 2008 where they showed off some features from The Sims 3 including Sim Attributes (both good and bad) and the “Create-A-Sim” mode that has the headline “It’s kind of like real life.”

If you are one of those people who doesn’t like having to deal with store clerks/other shoppers then you’ll be happy to know that you will be able to buy and download The Sims 3 digitally the day of it’s release.

The game will also be available in a limited Collector’s Edition that includes a special tin case and comes with a The Sims 3 plumbob USB drive with matching green carabiner, an exclusive in-game Italian-style sports car, a hints and tips guide and The Sims 3 plumbob stickers.

I think this is unfair to all of us sims fans I was counting down each day since like september or october and now they think they are going to get more prophit by delaying the date ??? Well maybe now I won’t buy the game since delaying the release date for such a long amount of time

OMG those stupid MFs they r going 2 lose all fans if they keep doing this. They r so stupid thinking they r going 2 get more sales doing this. If anything their fans will find something else to play and by the time it comes out no one will want it.

To tell you the truth, I was pissed off when the Sims 3 was delayed, being the Sims has never been delayed before, but I’m more worried about when the console ports will get releaced, there is no offial date on them, and damn would I love to play the Sims 3 on my 360! JQ

Where in this article does it say that the release was pushed back to increase sales? Game releases aren’t postponed for that, they’re postponed because of technical issues.

You’re all still going to buy the game, so don’t act like you’re not. Stop being so impatient. Rushing games out the door is never a good idea. Pushing back a release date is always better than releasing an unfinished product.
