Batman: Arkham Asylum announced by Eidos for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC due 2009
Batman: Arkham Asylum has been announced for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC by publisher Eidos and developer Rocksteady Studios for a 2009 release.
As Batman, players deliver The Joker to the insanity-prison of Arkham Asylum only to be imprisoned by everyone’s favorite cast of Batman supervillains.
The original script has been penned by Emmy Award-winning Batman writer Paul Dini and the game seeks to bring Batman to life like never before with stunning graphics using the Unreal Engine 3 game engine and featuring not only action gameplay but stealth as well. The game will feature a dark and gritty setting reminiscent of Bioshock and will be both “graphically distinct” and “incredibly dark” as players hunt down Gotham City’s most notorious villains.
The U.S. Game Informer magazine got the official reveal and blowout on the game for next month’s issue (September 2008).
