Super Monkey Ball for Apple’s iPhone is it’s biggest launch-day seller with over 300,000 downloads since June 11th at $10 a piece.

That amounts to about $3 million dollars for Sega (the game’s developer) and 30% or nearly $900,000 going to Apple, which is nothing to scoff at.

Since both parties must be pleased at the sales figures for the game, Sega all-but confirmed that Super Monkey Ball will definitely NOT be the last title they release for the platform. Sega of America President Simon Jeffery responded to Super Monkey Ball’s sales saying “That’s a substantial business. It gives iPhone a justifiable claim to being a viable gaming platform,” quotes WSJ.

However it’s worth nothing that people who purchased the game did so blindly, since there is no way to download a demo before you play, like you can with Xbox Live Arcade or the PlayStation Network. Sadly, Super Monkey Ball also didn’t receive great review scores, with reviewers sighting the difficulty of tilting the system to move the monkey, making the game extremely frustrating.

However the game does feature unique visuals (that look very good on the iPhone) and a total of 110-stages for a near-console experience.
