Lego Harry Potter, Lego Superman, Lego The Lord of the Rings games all possible now that Warner Bros lends its names to Traveller’s Tales

Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga for WiiLego Harry Potter, Lego Superman, Lego Lord of the Rings . . . The Lego universe is about to grow by leaps and bounds as Warner Bros. has acquired Traveller’s Tales (the developers behind the huge Lego Star Wars, Lego Indiana Jones and the upcoming Lego Batman games).

Speaking with Variety, Traveller’s Tales President Jon Burton revealed that his company is working on multiple Lego games based on Warner Bros. IP’s. He says, “We’ve gotten started doing some LEGO games on the Warner IP.”

He also reveals some more details about the future, “To be able to dabble around in CG and film would be interesting,” and that, “Warner allows me to push in those directions without ‘quitting the day job,’ so to speak.”

So while nothing is confirmed, this means that any and all Warner Bros. Intellectual Properties are up for grabs to be turned into Lego video games. Three huge upcoming WB films are The Watchmen, Terminator Salvation and Superman: Man of Steel.

Other films Warner Bros. owns the rights to include: The Matrix trilogy, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Ocean’s 11, Austin Powers and Blade.

So what games would you most like to see turned into Lego video games? I would definitely love to see Superman and The Lord of the Rings, but I think after Superman I’d love to see Lego Terminator . . . . In part cause it’d be interesting to see if it’d even be possible to turn an R-rated series into a family friendly Lego-style.
