Fallout 3 Versus Oblivion: Fallout is the best, says creator Bethesda

Fallout 3 is much greater than Oblivion says creator of both games, beloved developer Bethesda.

Speaking in London Bethesda’s Peter hines went on record saying, “I have no doubts in my mind that, at its core and for everything that it provides that Fallout is a better game than Oblivion was. For sure, I don’t have any doubts that on the whole, and I think this is a belief universally shared on the team that Fallout is a better game.”

That’s a high order considering that many people consider The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion to be one of the best games of all time. Heck, virtually all my friends and all my siblings still play the game regularly around my house.

Fallout 3 has an October 7th release date for Xbox 360 and PC.

I’m not sure what kinda game Fallout is, but if I gbgad to rate Oblivion on a scail pf 1 to 10. I’d have to give it 99.9. Onlt cause mine loads slow, and glutcges. But I think that’s just my system cause its old.
But like sereusly, you cab make male and female chars.
You can lcl em uo, choose their stats, and change their look.
Now like I said befor, I don’t knoqw what kinda game Fallout is, maybe you can do that in that game to, I don’t know, but in my opinion, Oblivian is still tops in my fave games.

I know fallout 3 is the bomb for sure…the reason i bought an XBOX 360 is because of Oblivion and of course Halo but mainly Oblivion and any game published by Bethesda is amazing and plus Fallout 3 is like an Oblivion with guns and that is awesome plus it is in the future,,AMAZING…anyways its Oct 16 and its only 12 days away…i dunno bout u but im gettin FALLOUT 3!!!

Oblivion was, to me, stunningly lackluster. I wanted to love it, but I found it repetitive and dull. That doesn’t bug me though… I’ve looked at all the videos and screencaps, and have every expectation that Fallout is going to exceed my expectations.

OMG, finally someone who agrees with me that oblivion is dull!! Good on you HoneyBakedHam!! I don’t hate oblivion – I definitely find it it mesmerising, but it’s pretty dull. Dungeon crawling is exactly that – kill the imps, now where’s the chest? And getting upset when I can’t find the chest. Lacks a heart.

If I had to rate Oblivion I’d put it at a 3 out of 10. Honestly. It’s too buggy, the AI is horrendous, the NPC interaction screen is repetetive ad infinitum.

Fallout 3 is however MUCH better. You can tell that it’s building on the same system, but everything is polished. The combat system is better, the NPCs look more realistic, the “face creator” is more tuned and doesn’t generate totally wacky-looking individuals.

In short, Fallout 3 is the shit! Oblivion is just.. shit.

Have to totally agree with FalloutFanboi – why would Bethesda say a game that came out years ago was better than a current game? Would a car manufacturer or washing powder manufacturer say that? Are you going to say to your second wife that your fist wife was better? So of course Bethseda are not going to say Oblivion is better than Fallout 3! That’s for us gamers to decide anyway!

I don’t even know why questions like this are asked! The gaming media and industry must think we’re idiots!

Fallout 3 vs Oblivion, I would say Oblivion is better. Graphics and combat in Fallout 3 is better then Oblivion by far but when it comes to game length Oblivion is by far 100 times better. Fallout 3 has a total of 17 sidequests and when you complete the main quest the game is over, no continuing if you didn’t complete the quests. Oblivion had about 200+ sidequests and could be continued after the main quest storyline. So I would give Fallout a 7 out of 10 and Oblivion a 9 out of 10.

fallout 3 is the best game ever there is so much to do. Even if you don’t find what you are looking for there are a thousand more things there to explore. I am constantly finding myself veering off course and doing fun things. The best thing is is that you can kill anyone you want so if someone pisses you off you can just blow them away.
