Star Trek Online MMO in development at Cryptic Studios
A Star Trek Online MMO has been revealed via a job listing from Cryptic Studios in the Game Career guide e-newsletter, which you can find on page 43 in the PDF file.
Not much information is known or available, much less revealed in the “Now Hiring” ad, other than that the game is currently being worked on and that they will apparently be sticking with the “Star Trek Online” name.
Work on a Star Trek MMO switched from developer Perpetual Entertainment to an “undisclosed California-based developer”. Which has now been revealed as Cryptic Studios.
Cryptic Studios is most well known as the developer behind City of Heroes and City of Villains. Focusing entirely on Massively Multiplayer Online RPGs, the company was working on Marvel Universe Online, although it was canceled, and then resurrected with an new IP attached, now known as The Champions (Hero Universe).
