First Pokemon Platinum video shown in Japan

Pokemon Platinum Japanese BoxartPokemon Platinum is the name of the upcoming DS Pokemon Diamond/Pearl remake/update. The game does not yet have a release date outside of Japan, where it’s set to hit shelves on September 13th, 2008.

Like Pokemon Yellow, Pokemon Crystal and Pokemon Emerald before it, Pokemon Platinum will be the definite version of Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl. It’s the same game, but adds much more, including new locations and updated graphics.

Other new features for Pokemon Platinum include:

* New forms of existing Pokemon, like Giratina’s Origin Form, Regigigas’ Sky Form, and Shaymin’s Another Form. Giratina and Regigigas’ new forms will be able to get the Levitate ability and Shaymin’s Another Form may be at least part Ice Type.
* The Underground section will now be Wi-Fi online enabled.
* There will be a new Battle Island, similar to the Battle Frontier in previous games.
* It looks like there will be a new battle interface.
* Volkner may no longer be the gym leader of Sunyshore City.
* A new blue costume for the main character.

Check out the first footage of Pokemon Platinum from this trailer video taken directly from Japan.

I read on this website that this game will come out in America on the 22nd of March next year. Any one know when it’ll come out in Australia? I’m dying to get it.

8

@ KISSfan: All Nintendo has said so far that it would come out in PAL regions (Europe & Australia) in 2009. So there’s that at least.

Well, as long it’s not coming out in 2010.
