Gradius Rebirth announced for WiiWare (8-bit!)
The Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu had an article where Konami revealed Gradius Rebirth for WiiWare. The shoot ‘em up is due this summer and looks similar to the original Gradius. No releases outside of Japan have been announced yet.
So expect to be upgrading your ship soon as you will once again take control of the Vic Viper and battle enemies such as Moai heads in an effort to take down the Bacterian Empire once and for all.
PS: While it looks like the very first games in the series it doesn’t seem to be a port or remake, but rather as the title hints another 8-bit rebirth along the lines of Mega Man 9 that’s also on WiiWare.
