Wii Sports 2: Resort (or rather, Wii Sports Resort) was revealed by Nintendo at E3 2008 during their Pre-E3 Press Conference. It is the sequel to the Best-Selling Wii Sports game that came pack-in with every Nintendo Wii system sold.

Update: Wii Sports Resort will release on July 26, 2009. It will be bundled with the WiiMotion Plus accessory for $50. Additionally the WiiMotion Plus accessory will be released for purchase on it’s own at a price point of $20 on June 8, 2009.

They only showed 3 of the 10 games that will be available in Wii Sports Resort, but it will support the recently announced Wii MotionPlus Wii Remote Accessory for pinpoint accuracy. The game’s shown included a dog fetching game (Called “Disc Dog”) where you have to throw a Frisbee by flicking your wrist, a fun Jet Ski racing game (called “Power Cruising”) where your Mii’s race jet ski’s ala Wave Race 64/Blue Storm and you have to hold the Wii Remote & Nunchuck out in front of you like they were handle bars. You even have to “rev” by tilting the Nunchuck pulling upward as if it was the handle lever. Finally they showed a sword-chopping mini-game (Called “Sword Play”) in which your Mii uses a sword to chop at pieces of wood . . . one was even in the form of a giant pencil that a good player could “sharpen”!

The game will reportedly cost $50 upon release due to the fact that the Wii MotionPlus accessory will be bundled in with the game. It’s scheduled for worldwide release in Spring of 2009.
