Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen game release date alongside the movie on June 26, 2009

During publisher Activision’s press conference at the Vibiana in Los Angeles before E3 2008 started, the company mentioned Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen sequel video game in connection to the Transformers movie. It’s expected “Transformers 2: The Game” will be released alongside the Transformers 2 movie on June 26th, 2009. The game will be developed by Luxoflux (of Kung Fu Panda and True Crime: New York City fame) and is expected to appear on Wii, DS, PS3, PS2, PSP, Xbox 360 and PC.

According to the movie’s director Michael Bay “The new robots are really really unique and there are a lot [around 20] of them this time.”

Here’s the plot for the second Transformers movie (and presumably the game too). Tread carefully if you’re weary of spoilers! Story: “The battle for Earth has ended but the battle for the universe has just begun. After returning to Cybertron, Starscream assumes command of the Decepticons, and has decided to return to Earth with force. The Autobots believing that peace was possible finds out that Megatron’s dead body has been stolen from the US Military by Skorpinox and revives him using his own spark. Now Megatron is back seeking revenge and with Starscream and more Decepticon reinforcements on the way, the Autobots with reinforcements of their own, may have more to deal with then meets the eye.”

Maybe in the sequel we’ll see the female Transformers called Arcee, who was written out of the first movie’s final script.
