Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness has been a big success on Xbox Live Arcade, with the Xbox 360 downloadable game selling an impressive 16,500 units within it’s first three days on the Xbox Live Arcade service.

That amount of purchases in three days has only been topped by the likes of Rez HD, which sold 25,000 units and Ikaruga, which sold 22,500 units.

The game’s artist, Mike “Gabe” Krahulik wrote in the Penny Arcade blog that he was “pretty f—ing happy” with the numbers. Penny Arcade Adventures was Hothead Games’ first title. He went on to write that, “Given that our price point was double the other games on that list I’m pretty f—ing happy. We fully expected some people to complain about the $20 price tag but we honestly felt like our game was worth it.”
