Star Wars: Clone Wars game Wii and DS screenshots

Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Lighsaber Duels for Wii and Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance for DS have been announced and titled by LucasArts; following a teaser on the back of the Lego Indiana Jones instruction booklet.

The two new games are based off the upcoming Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated movie and TV show and are expected for release in November for both platforms. And naturally, the DS version will feature stylus control while the Wii version will feature motion control using the Wii Remote and Nunchuck.

Speaking of motion control on the Wii, the game’s developer says, “We’ve tried to make the Lightsaber control as intuitive and fun as possible. It’s not a Lightsaber simulator, but when you swing your Wii remote left to right; your character does the same. You use the thumbstick on the Nunchuck to move your character and swing the Wii remote to swing your Lightsaber.”

And as for the DS stylus control? The developer states, “Jedi Alliance [for DS] is designed, from the ground up, as a stylus driven game. Player movement, combat, Force powers and puzzle solving all driven by the stylus. The unique form factor of the DS has given us a great opportunity for the first time ever to give players direct control of the Lightsaber.” The game also features “drop-in/drop-out” co-op play which allows another player to take over control of the CPU “partner” character that follows you at any time. Always a plus.

Both games are also being handled by different developers. Krome Studios is handling the Wii version while the DS version is being done by a LucasArt’s studio in Singapore. — Via IGN Wii & IGN DS
