I had just returned from being deployed in Iraq to see my 3 year old son for the first time. He was a fan of Wii Sports and in love with Wii Tennis. I began to play a game with him only to get my butt kicked. Embarrassing yes…but very fun. We haven’t stopped playing it since. Now I can almost beat him.
I owe it to Wii Tennis for helping me bond with my best friend and hopefully I can be the father my son has deserved for the past 3 years.

My friend Jason and I were playing a highly competitive game of NBA Live 2006. He had a good run late in the 3rd quarter and I was down by 17. He maintained the lead and I was down by 19 with 3 minutes to go. I started shooting nothing but prayer-3 point-shots. I made 5 in a row including one with Shaq and let’s just say Jason was upset.
It came down to the wire and I in bounded the ball with 2 seconds left. Down by 1, Dwayne Wade dribbled the ball down the court and threw an ally-oop to James Posey who shot an awkward 3 pointer and banked it off to win the game.
My friend was angry but swore he would get me in a rematch. He never did. The next week he was hit by a drunk driver while riding his bike and was killed instantly.
I haven’t played an NBA Live game since.
