Warcraft 4 release far in the future

Blizzard’s VP of game design, Rob Pardo, was asked about the possibility of the developer creating the next Warcraft 4 real-time strategy (RTS) game in the popular series. While the MMORPG World of Warcraft has over 10 million subscribers, the franchise started out in the RTS genre, so will it be returning to its RTS roots? In an interview from last year he answered:

“Yeah, of course there’s a chance,” he confirmed. “The way that we develop things, each time a development team becomes available, because they’re done with creating the games that they’ve been doing, they have a lot of say over what their next game is. So what it would take is for one of our teams to decide that they want to make Warcraft RTS and of course, there’ll be some talk about doing that and I’m sure after StarCraft 2 ships, it will be one the ideas on the table for that team to do, but that’s pretty far off in the future and it would really be determined by a combination of the dev team and the company leadership.”

Mr. Pardo continued: “I think that one of the things that makes us ultimately successful as a company is that we’re more lead by our game-making decisions and not so much by business decisions, which is one of the reasons why this question used to be the StarCraft question. Back when we did StarCraft, we did Brood War, and everyone thought they were amazing games; they were successful and I used to get all these questions like, “Why are you doing another Warcraft RTS, shouldn’t you be doing StarCraft?” Well Warcraft was what the team wanted to make, they were burned out on the StarCraft universe, that was the game they wanted to make and as far as Warcraft goes, we love the universe – it’s an amazingly successful universe. If we want to go back and do it, maybe we will, maybe we won’t.”

I think that people saying that campaign is only interesting for 1 day are WRONG!
I finished the campaigns like 5 times now and done many levels just for fun. I just love the story! if they could improve AI in WC4 (like game creators can in the new C&C games) it would be f*cking awesome!!!

SO far that i have heard about warcraft 4 is nothing much but their going to add another race if it comes out so whats it going to be undead, naga, human, ork, and night elf or from other people on bnet undead, trolls, human ork night elf and first of all i am a pro my bnet name is coll my new one because i was being harresed

I’ve played Warcraft II the dark portal when I was little (er) and it was an amazing game. I love warcraft III because it has good graphics and is an all around fun game. If a Warcraft IV came out I would totally buy it. You may not even consider it, but I think it would be really awesome if you got credits from quests and would be able to make your own little hero with special abilities and clothes-It’d be awesome. Just remember to put the game on battlenet.

you ar all noobs. everyone that knows anything about warcraft lore knows that the real threat is in elwynn…. this threat is commonly know as hogger but he has gone super saiyan 3. he must be stopped. WC4 ftw

A Warcraft IV would be amazing! If you don’t like the campaign think about battle.net!!!! The graphics would be better, map making would most likely be better, and that is really what I want. I enjoy the campaign but I realllyyyy like battle.net

I’m playing World of Warcraft , and i say , that people who play WoW also have to play all parts of warcraft , else
u know nothing about the story and then it’s borring ^^
like all the noobs on my sever are thinking that King varian wrynn and his son prince anduin wrynn ( king and prince of Storm wind )
,,, Magni Bronzebeard ( king of ironforge = king of the dwarves)
and there are many more people important to WoW , that aren’t important to Warcraft =( , like most of the horde kings/ warchiefs /queens are important to both WoW and warcraft,, ,, so they could make more warcraft parts with these people which are important in WoW and then also important in Warcraft

I Think that the new WC3 would base in Outlands!

It’d be nice to fight Illidan and Kil’Jaden and even Kael (blood mage). New race would be Draenei! It’d be cool to get Shattrat City in WC3.
