New Mario Super Sluggers characters listed and super moves unveiled. Release date August 25, 2008

Originally known as Super Mario Stadium Baseball, the renamed Mario Super Sluggers for Wii has a tentative release date on August 25th, 2008, in North America. It will feature new characters and super moves not seen in the original GameCube sports title Mario Superstar Baseball. According to developer Namco Bandai this time around you’ll be able to use three motion-controlled play methods with up to four players (2 vs. 2, 1 vs. 2 or 1 vs. 3). Play using the:
1. Wii Remote by itself;
2. Wii Remote and the Nunchuk;
3. Wii Remote held sideways.

Every of the (so far) 42 characters will have his/her/its own unique batting and pitching powers (super moves) that are listed below, next to their name (where available). For examples see the above screenshot that shows Mario swings away with a fireball, Princess Peach spreads the love, Luigi’s swing generates a whirlwind, and Waluigi pitches in an arching rainbow.

23. Peach — Heart Shot spreads the love
24. Petey Piranha
25. Pianta
26. Shy Guy
27. Toad
28. Toadette
29. Toadsworth
30. Waluigi — Usoshiki Ball

WTF!! why isnt Ballyhoo and Bigtop a playable character!!! He deserves more of a spot than King K Rool

well the roster is pretty impressive, but it would of been nice to see MC Ballyhoo, Rosalina, Luma, Dry Bowser, Candy Kong, Lakitu, Professor E. Gadd, R.O.B., Ukiki, Mallow, Penguin, Big Bob-Omb, Metal Mario, Baby Bowser, and possibly Pac-Man, since the game is published by Namco. Oh, and maybe even Baby Waluigi making a debut in the Marioverse just like Baby Daisy in Mario Kart Wii or Toadette in Mario: Kart Double Dash!! I could just picture these characters in the game, but maybe next time some on my list will be included? Anyways, this game is going to be great none-the-less.

thats cool but how is goomba and wiggler catch/throw a ball or even hold a bat? And what does blooper do- does he just float?
but still- thats a lotta durn characters. I thought SSBB had a lot with 35

I really do think rosalina and some of the newer characters should be in also be we should be greatful they put in so many characters as it is

shadow mario shouldve been in!!!! (the invisible lookin mario from sunshine) he wouldve been ssooooooo cool! also i think lakitu, big bom-omb, ukiki, rosalina, dry bowser, bullet bill, bugsy beetle, shroob, paper mario, E.gadd, goombella, boomerang bro, plum from tennis, doctor mario, and the koopalings(the bosses in mario world) shouldve been in as well. if their gonna include so many characters that were never in any mario games to begin with, like trixie kong, tiny kong, K. rool, ect. they should at least include my suggestions. also i think some wario ware characters would be nice too.(kat&ana, jimmy t, ashley) and why not have babys of everyone else. they already have baby mario, luigi, DK,peach, and daisy, why not introduce baby wluigi and wario, or even a baby yoshi. everybody would love a baby yoshi. im just sayin

I got the game today played … AWESOME!!!! pretty sweet characters too. Blooper is weird but cool. lol =D xDDDDD
