New Mario Super Sluggers characters listed and super moves unveiled. Release date August 25, 2008

Originally known as Super Mario Stadium Baseball, the renamed Mario Super Sluggers for Wii has a tentative release date on August 25th, 2008, in North America. It will feature new characters and super moves not seen in the original GameCube sports title Mario Superstar Baseball. According to developer Namco Bandai this time around you’ll be able to use three motion-controlled play methods with up to four players (2 vs. 2, 1 vs. 2 or 1 vs. 3). Play using the:
1. Wii Remote by itself;
2. Wii Remote and the Nunchuk;
3. Wii Remote held sideways.

Every of the (so far) 42 characters will have his/her/its own unique batting and pitching powers (super moves) that are listed below, next to their name (where available). For examples see the above screenshot that shows Mario swings away with a fireball, Princess Peach spreads the love, Luigi’s swing generates a whirlwind, and Waluigi pitches in an arching rainbow.
