Starting today, Gears of War’s price will be lowered to $39.99 (Xbox 360) and $29.99 (Games for Windows) throughout the U.S. and Canada. It’s another $5 cheaper on Amazon for the single disc version, but for that small difference you might want to check out the $39.99 two-disc version…
On June 24th, a re-release two-disc retail version of Gears of War (Xbox 360) will arrive in the U.S. and Canada. The two-disc version includes previously released multiplayer map packs, the Annex game mode, and the ability to earn up to eight additional multiplayer Achievements worth 250 Gamerscore. Gamers will also get a taste of the highly anticipated sequel, Gears of War 2, through trailers and other extras.
Two-disc version contents includes:
* Gears of War: Game with Annex multiplayer mode, Map Packs 1 & 2, Theme - ‘Emergence Day’, and Gamer Pics - ‘Gears of War,’ ‘Emergence Day’.
* Gears of War 2: Trailers - ‘Duel,’ ‘Assault’, Theme - ‘Bare Your Teeth’, and Gamer Pics - ‘Crimson Omen’.
PS: While this two-disc version contains both Annex mode, and the ability to earn an extra 250 gamerscore (for a total of 1250) from a previous title update, the Xbox 360 version will NOT contain the PC-exclusive Timgad level, so no console Brumak battles.
