James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace game debut screenshots and details

The latest issue of the UK’s GamesMaster magazine has revealed the first details for Activision’s first James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace game. As we previously reported, it’s been confirmed that you’ll play through levels from both Casino Royale and the Quantum of Solace films. Meanwhile, Tiscali showed 007 Quantum of Solace screenshots that use the Call of Duty 4 engine.

The magazine reports that gameplay-wise the core FPS experience is broken up with third-person elements to remind you you’re playing as Bond… James Bond. This happens during action sequences, like climbing ladders, walking along ledges, and God of War-style quick-time events that let you pull off takedowns to dispense enemies quickly and quietly. One quick-time event has you play through the chase at the start of Casino Royale. The cover system is compared to that of Grand Theft Auto IV, where the camera pulls out to an external view so you can see Bond on screen against the wall with his enemies in the background.

The AI of the enemies use flank tactics and can communicate with each other. The game will be released alongside the film on November 7th, 2008. — Via CVG & N4G.

The game definitely looks promising seeing how it uses the same engine as Call of Duty 4. So many great games coming out so soon.

Hopefully it will be alright. It kind of sucks though. I was hoping it would be solely a video game and not based on a movie, because those games are always better. I doubt it will have on-line now that it’s based off the movies. Damn. Maybe next time.

this seems like a good game but movies games are so crap so i herd it has the Call of Duty 4 engine so i could be wrong. i will be looking forward to reviewing this game……

Let me see now, its being developed by the same team as Call of Duty 4, Uses the Cod4 game engine.
Sounds and looks like it could be very good indeed!
I remember Goldeneye on the N64 and i hope it is similar to this. Personally i think its going to be a good game and only 1 day until we find out!
