Official Street Fighter 4 character list

Out of the complete Street Fighter 4 cast, 25 characters have been revealed like Ken and Crimson Viper. Producer Yoshinori Ono (who also did Street Fighter III 3rd Strike: Fight for the Future) has said that the character roster “isn’t finalised yet, but we’re trying to use all the characters from Street Fighter II’ Turbo, and we’re obviously cooking up new characters as well.”

We thought it was time to list the Street Fighter 4 characters below that have been confirmed for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC versions of the fighting game that came to Arcades in July 2008. The home versions (with added online multiplayer) will be released in America on February 17th, and in Europe on February 20th, 2009.

Still missing from the Street Fighter II’ Turbo cast or hinted at characters are:
* Dee Jay
* Ibuki
* T. Hawk

Even if those or some of your other past favorites do not return at the time of release, they might still appear later on. How? Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono is also looking into the possibility of using microtransactions for future downloadable content updates which might include new characters and stages, but that’s ultimately up to Capcom. February 18, 2009, update: Mr. Ono told Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu the following about T. Hawk and Dee Jay: “The development team said, ‘We want them in!’ Honestly, we did the modeling up to the pre-texturing. We made the fight settings for T. Hawk in Street Fighter IV… If users make their voices heard, this prep work is something we can revive at anytime.”

Street Fighter 4’s “2D” six-button gameplay will have new special moves, including Focus attacks, Super Combos, and the revenged-fueled Ultra Combo system.

(**) Street Fighter 4 producer Yoshinori Ono had a panel at the San Diego Comic-con 2008, during which he hinted Cammy, Akuma and Ken & Ryu’s master Gouken would appear in the home console versions of the fighting game. He confirmed Cammy at the end with the premiere of a new animated video centered largely around Chun-Li, Guile and Cammy. The video reveals the game’s plot includes Cammy finding it suspicion that M. Bison’s Shadaloo organization was destroyed at the end of Street Fighter II, yet neither his body nor those of his lieutenants have been recovered

i wish all the characters from the ex series of streetfighter will be added or atleast a few it would make the game even more amazin i love Skullomania

They’ve added all the characters from Super Street Fighter 2 except Dee Jay & T. Hawk - It just makes sense to add them to the roster. I can’t see them adding any characters from SF3 as it’s supposed to be set before #3. I’d also love them to add EX fighters, but it wasn’t developed by Capcom so they won’t (unfortunately) appear. I think they should add more Alpha characters like Adon & Guy!
I hope Capcom don’t release multiple versions of SF4 like they did with SF3 - I really hope they figure out a way for players to download extra fighters & backgrounds…

They should add Garuda from SF EX Plus Alpha(It is demon),it was 1 of my fav chars in all fighting games…….

I think they have to add Characters like Sean, Dudley, Ibuki, Kenya I mean those where great characters from SF3 Expecially Sean He was Ken first and only student for crying out loud can’t we use the rolling tackle. Capcom please add more characters and why call it Street Fighter 4 when there are no returning Character from Street Fighter 3. I mean everyone knows SF Alpha, Alpha 2, Alpha 3 was when Ryu and Ken were Teenagers and it was before the original SF1. SF2 was next then followed Super Street Fighter 2 Adding 4 more characters then Street Fighter 3, SF3 Double Impact and SF3 Third Strike now its suppose to be SF4 right? but with no SF3 characters??? Capcom your really leaving us hanging here I hope you can make up for it with some DLC. Hey if KOF (King of the FIghters),(SNK) can be successful with over 35 Characters in one game so can you. Give the Fans What they want add DLC!!!

You know . . . I think Capcom is going to make us pay for characters. I’m just sure of it. Like add-ons. Damn, that would suck if they did! Just my 2 cents . . . it’s a possibility.

Man, if they added Deejay and T. Hawk on DLC or on the game from the start I would be VERY VERY greatful. that would be ALL the street fighter 2 characters. I also Think T. Hawk and El Fuerte would have a good match up. and as far as Dee Jay. He was the Jamaican Fighter I loved that FIGHTER! =] if those 2 arent IN game, please at least add them to DLC. I’d pay about 5-10 Dollars MAX.
