First Virtua Fighter 5 R trailer and new additions listed, like the characters Taka-Arashi and Jean Kujo

Virtua Fighter 5 for PS3Sega AM2 announced a revision of Virtua Fighter 5 called Virtua Fighter 5 R — which is considered to be an equivalent to Virtua Fighter 4’s Evolution update — at the AOU Amusement Expo back in February. The realistic fighting game will be released in Arcades later in 2008, but no console release was announced, although Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution appeared on the PlayStation 2. It’s not known whether or not the game will be a downloadable update or a separate release like Virtua Fighter 4: Evolution (except this time not on one console, but on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3).

Virtua Fighter 5 R will features brand new stages, a new “Danshi Mode” where players take on the role of a fighter in training and learn new moves through battle, and two added playable characters, as well as other items, tweaks and enhancements! The added characters bring the fighter count up to 20 (counting Dural). They are:
1. A new French character named Jean Kujo, who practices Karate and uses some distinctive footwork.
2. The sumo wrestler, Taka-Arashi, returns to make his first appearance since Virtua Fighter 3.
